Magnetic Release Vents

Magnetic Release Vents

A rigid aluminum panel held by hinged magnetic releases that sense internal pressure and trip the instant it exceeds the set point. The vent opens fast and will not re-close, so it cannot trap a developing fire. After a typical event, the panel simply swings back up, and the unit is ready to return to service.

Fracture Release Vents

Fracture Release Vents

Custom spring-clip releases that hold the panel under tension and break instantly under overpressure. Each clip is built to the customer’s release setting, from 20 to 220 lb in 5-lb increments. After an event, the panel is reusable roughly 70-75% of the time; only the clips need to be replaced, at a small fraction of the assembly cost.

Mechanical Release Vents

Mechanical Release Vents

A stainless steel mechanical latch that opens at a set force, suited to corrosive environments and systems under positive pressure. The release point is set by the springs and adjusts without tools, and the latch is not torque-sensitive, so it never requires lubrication.

Implosion Relief Vents

Implosion Relief Vents

Inward-acting vents for equipment at risk of excessive vacuum, such as the suction side of large pneumatic conveying fans. If a line clogs, the vent opens to admit air and prevent the duct from collapsing. An off-center axle makes the panel a pressure sensor, with opening torque proportional to the vacuum.

Applications

Silos and Pneumatic Conveying

Grain, sugar, wood, and similar materials generate combustible dust as they move through silos and pneumatic tube systems. Positive-pressure vents relieve a deflagration on the discharge side, while implosion vents protect the suction side of conveying fans from collapse.

Food and Pharmaceutical Processing

Bulk food and pharmaceutical lines handle combustible powders and are subject to strict sanitation requirements. For these, the inside of the panel is built in 316 stainless steel, a food- and pharmaceutical-grade surface that resists scratching and cleans easily.

Side Mount Vents

The most common configuration is to be mounted on the side of a vessel, duct, or enclosure. Side-mount vents are available across all three release types and are built to your exact opening, from small piping up to 4′ x 8′ panels, in round, square, rectangular, or custom shapes to work around structural obstructions.

Roof Top Vents

Designed for horizontal mounting on equipment or buildings, with a skirted aluminum top face and a flat sponge seal beneath for a weather-tight fit. Available in standard and round configurations, rooftop vents are reusable and built to mount on customer-supplied or supplied frames.

Replacement Clips, Gaskets, and Accessories

After an event, fracture clips and gaskets are replaceable individually, so a reusable panel can be returned to service without a full assembly. We also supply accessories, such as abrasion shields for abrasive materials like coal, grain, or wood dust, and repair customer-returned vents by replacing worn parts.

Custom Sizing and Materials

Every vent is a custom build. Panels can be specified with 316 stainless steel interiors for food- and pharmaceutical-grade sanitation, insulation for high-heat service, and abrasion shielding where product contacts the panel. Send us the opening size, pressure setting, and operating conditions, and we will build to match.
